Berrueco Castle Viewpoint: Witness to Unmatched Stories and Views
Located at the top of a steep rocky hill, the Mirador del Castillo de Berrueco rises majestically from the Northwest, dominating the small hamlet that extends at its feet. Access to the viewpoint that overlooks this historical treasure is simple, among the picturesque houses of the town, providing a direct connection with the past.
We can visit it by following the route that we leave you below, or by going directly up to this enclave of wonderful views.
A view of times past
As you explore the remains of Berrueco Castle, evoking its role on the border between Aragon and Castile during the Middle Ages, you will come across this viewpoint that offers us a magnificent view of the Gallocanta Lagoon, its endorheic basin and the majestic mountains that surround it. In this area, the oaks are home to a varied fauna, including roe deer, genets, foxes and wild boars.
Although the Castle is in a deplorable state, with barely any remains of two of its towers and the disappearance of the ashlars from its corners due to looting, the viewpoint continues to take us back to bygone eras.
Above all, immerse yourself in a unique experience where panoramic views are intertwined with traces of history in this fascinating corner. Discover the magic of the past at the Berrueco Castle Viewpoint!
