The Gallocanta Lagoon, located on the border between Zaragoza and Teruel, is a natural spectacle of unmatched beauty. This saline wetland, the largest in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the best preserved in Western Europe, it stands like an oasis in the arid Aragonese steppe.

Formed through a karstification process in a limestone and sandstone environment, the Gallocanta Lagoon is witness to significant historical and ecological changes. Its altitude of 1,000 meters and its location in an endorheic basin give it unique characteristics, where the salinity of its waters and the variability of its level, which can reach 2 meters, play a crucial role in its ecology. It is 8 km long and almost 3 km wide.
